You can't shoot at other players. | |
| | ''THROW'' | Throws an item. | | | | ''THROW item AT creature'' | Throws an item at a creature you can see. | The creature must be within 3 hexes. You can't throw things at other players. The item must be in your hand, or on your belt if the item allows it and you have a free hand. | |
| | | ''THROW item [direction] [direction] [direction]'' | Throws an item you are holding toward a hex up to 3 steps away. | Only the typed command can throw to a hex. Mouse throws only target creatures. Without a direction, the throw targets your own hex. | |
| | ''CAST'' / ''C'' | Casts a spell. | | | | ''CAST'' / ''C'' | Casts a spell. | | |

| | |
| | Throwing to a hex is only possible with the typed ''THROW'' command. When you throw with the mouse, clicking an empty hex does nothing. To throw to a hex, hold the item in either hand, type part of its name, then add up to three directions. Each direction moves the target one hex, so ''throw dagger n'' targets the hex just north of you and ''throw dagger n n e'' targets the hex two north and one east. If a wall is in the way or the item can't land on that hex, you see "You can't throw to that location." and the item stays in your hand. A throw that reaches water stops at the first water hex. Bottles and balls break at the target hex and some release their effect there, so throwing one without a direction uses it on your own hex. |
| | |
| | Where the thrown item can come from: |
| | * ''THROW item AT creature'': your hands, or your belt if the item allows it. Throwing from your belt needs a free hand. |
| | * ''THROW item [direction]'': your hands only. To throw a belt item to a hex, take it into your hand first. |
| | * Mouse throws: double-click an item on your belt if the item allows it, or a ball, bottle, or figurine in the top row of your sack, then click a creature. You can turn off top-row sack throwing with the ''Double-click throws from top sack row'' setting. |
| | |
| | The typed command never takes items from your sack. |
