Community Rules
These rules apply in Mazes and Monsters and in the community Discord. Not reading them is not an excuse.
These rules can't cover everything. Staff may act on any behavior that harms other players, the game, or the community, even if it isn't listed here. Looking for loopholes won't help.
The Rules
- Be respectful. No personal attacks, harassment, or stalking.
- No hate speech or threats. No slurs, discrimination, threats of violence, or encouraging self-harm.
- Don't ruin anyone else's game. Don't interfere with another player's ability to play or deliberately try to ruin their experience.
- Keep it family-friendly. No NSFW content or links in chat, character names, or anywhere else.
- No real-world debates. Leave politics, religion, and similar topics out of public chat. If staff ask you to drop a topic, drop it.
- No spam. No flooding, repeated messages, or walls of caps.
- Appropriate names. Character names must not be offensive or impersonate staff.
- No cheating or exploiting. No hacks, bots, or abusing bugs. Report bugs to staff instead; reporting a bug is never punished.
- One account per person.
- No sharing personal information. Yours or anyone else's.
- Don't evade punishments. Using another account or any other way around a jail sentence or ban counts as evasion.
- Respect staff decisions. If you disagree, take it up privately, not in public chat.
Consequences
Staff decide the consequence based on how serious the offence is and the circumstances. It may be:
- A warning.
- A mute in the Discord.
- Jail, until you complete the jail quest the number of times staff set. Staff may also remove the items you are carrying.
- A temporary ban.
- A permanent ban.
Serious offences such as hate speech, threats, or sharing personal information can go straight to a ban. Evading a punishment makes it worse.
Appeals
If you think a decision was wrong, DM a staff member.
